This is Krusty. (photo credit Katie)
That's what I decided to call this hatch year bird when I banded it KKK/AR (pink, pink, pink, aluminum, red)a few weeks ago. Krusty likes to hang out with AR/GOY, PUG/AR and a quite a few other hatch year birds in a floater gang that likes to visit the cabins and upset the Clintons, Castro, and Dahlia.
Krusty appears confused a lot of the time. Whether this is a product of his/ her disheveled shape due to the fact that they seem to be molting nearly every feather on their body, or their general slowness to catch onto gang activities is undecided. Krusty is not the dominant bird in his/ her gang. AR/GOY appears to be the ringleader. Krusty just follows along, (usually hesitantly). Krusty hid under the aphelocomobile after grabbing, then dropping a peanut from the trap when another bird approached. When he/ she went right back under the trap immediately after this encounter, Krusty's unbanded days were over.
